Tintagel Castle - North Cornwall

The legendary birthplace of King Arthur is Tintagel Castle, set high on the cliffs of the north coast of Cornwall. Its spectacular location on this dramatic coastline makes this awe-inspiring, romantic spot into a place of legends. The ruined castle to be seen there today was built by the Normans, but there are signs of far earlier buildings in this spot. Other legends link the castle to King Mark of Cornwall and the love story of Tristan and Isolde, or Yseult.
