Cornwall » Truro accommodation
Truro is a cathedral city and county town of Cornwall.
Truro's most striking feature is it's green spired Cathedral.
Built at the turn of the century it dominates the truro skyline with it's
250 foot high towers.
The city's heritage is as a market town and port dating back over 800 years,
booming during the tin mining era. Although the port is now mostly used
for pleasure cruises along the Truro and Fal rivers to Falmouth Truro is
still the main shopping town of Cornwall.
Positioned almost in the middle of Cornwall Truro is the county's administrative centre. Although with it's position and excellent transport links it makes a good base for exploring the rest of Cornwall
