Cornwall » St Agnes accommodation

Situated on the north coast of central Cornwall, St Agnes is a spirited village within range of a variety of surfing beaches and a short drive from Cornwall’s capital Truro. The hillside village seems to separate itself into different parts, with a charming mixture of 18th century sea captain’s cottages, local shops and inns, including the 17th century Driftwood Spars down by the sea. A free museum explains local myths and displays local mining history, amongst other things. Wheal Coates on the cliffs nearby is one of the finer examples of traditional engine houses in the county.
The prominent backdrop to the area is the Beacon, a hill from where the view along the north coast stretches from St Ives to Padstow and, turning around, all the way to the other coast. Walks abound here, some cliff-top, some ancient mining trails, and marine wildlife is similarly plentiful. Nearby, on the Truro road, is the Presingoll Barns craft centre
