Cornwall » Roseland accommodation

This Peninsula, just east of the Fal estuary, is an unspoilt gentle wilderness of tiny villages, quiet beaches, riverside walks and working farms. However, it also lies conveniently between the three sizeable towns of Falmouth, Truro and St Austell.
The affluent St Mawes is, perhaps, the main town and sits just across the Fal from Falmouth, from where a regular ferry runs.
Coming from Truro, the Roseland starts at the ancient village of Tregony. Before silting up, this too was a thriving port on the Fal river, and some interesting buildings testify to this.
St Just in Roseland has a beautifully situated church and Veryan an unusual pair of round houses at the entrance to the village.
The diminutive Portloe and Portscatho are archetypal Cornish fishing villages and a choice of sandy beaches line the coast.
